Certified Clinical Hypnotherapy

A quieter mind is closer than you think.

I help adults work through anxiety, insomnia, chronic stress, and unwanted habits using a blend of talk therapy and clinical hypnotherapy — grounded in evidence, paced to what you're ready for.

About

Trained in both talk therapy and clinical hypnosis, because minds don't change through one method alone.

I'm Aleksei V. Valov, founder of Valov Hypnosis, a Certified Hypnotherapist based in Austin, TX, working with clients online by Zoom. I hold a Nationally Accredited Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute and am a Professional Member of the American Hypnosis Association. I work with clients on stress and anxiety, habits and addictions, confidence and self-esteem, fears and phobias, focus and motivation, and sleep and relaxation — combining the structure of cognitive-behavioral approaches with the depth of guided hypnotic work. Sessions are collaborative: you stay in control, aware, and informed at every step.

Having held citizenship in three countries and lived in each for nearly a decade, I've experienced major cultural transitions that required me to repeatedly examine and rebuild my sense of identity — giving me a personal appreciation for how culture, belonging, and life experience shape the way people understand themselves. Combined with my previous service as a U.S. Army Behavioral Health Specialist at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana, this perspective informs the compassionate, culturally sensitive approach I bring to my work as a hypnotherapist.

Common questions

What people usually ask before their first session.

Will I be in control during hypnosis?

Yes. Hypnosis is a focused, relaxed state — not sleep and not loss of control. You remain aware of your surroundings the whole time and can stop the session whenever you choose.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the goal. Some single-issue concerns shift in one or two sessions; habits and long-standing anxiety patterns often benefit from a short program. We'll talk through a realistic plan during your free consultation.

Is hypnotherapy a substitute for therapy or medical care?

No. Hypnotherapy supports vocational and self-improvement goals and works well alongside licensed medical or mental health care — it isn't a replacement for either, and referrals go both directions when needed.

Can sessions be done online?

All sessions are held online over Zoom — there's no in-person office. Hypnotherapy works just as effectively by video as it does in person, and it means you can work with me from wherever you are.

What happens in a typical session?

We start by talking through what's going on and what you want to change, then move into guided relaxation and hypnotic work focused on that goal. Your first paid session runs up to 90 minutes; sessions after that run about 60.

Does hypnotherapy work the same for everyone?

No — responsiveness varies from person to person. Most people are able to reach a relaxed, focused state and benefit from the work; a willingness to participate matters more than any particular personality trait.

What do I need for a Zoom session?

A quiet, private room where you won't be interrupted, a stable internet connection, and headphones if you have them. No special equipment beyond that.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What you share in session stays between us, with the same care and discretion you'd expect from any professional practice.

Can I reschedule or cancel a session?

Yes — just reach out with as much notice as you can, and we'll find a new time. If anything about the policy is unclear, ask during your free consultation.

Client experiences

What clients say after working together.

Client testimonials go here once available — real names (or initials, with permission) and a short quote work best. Ask 2–3 past clients for a couple of sentences on their result.
